Cultural Arts Jazz Workshops 
& Half Day Summer Camp

Developing Confidence through Music

Lights… Music… Play…!! For all aspiring musicians and those who want to build self-confidence, self-esteem, and develop your creativity, this series of three workshops and a one-week half day summer camp will provide a well-rounded Jazz experience to those with big dream. A joint program of the Fayetteville Cumberland Youth Council, the Cultural Arts Program for Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation and the non-profit Sandhills Jazz Society, will provide a unique experience designed to encourage High School and Middle School students of all levels to fuel their jazz performance skills (middle school students considered by recommendation). Students will learn jazz theory, jazz history improvisation, and performance techniques. Student will interact will local recording jazz artist and performers. This well-rounded musical experience will provide an opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills, character and individual creativity. Students of all instruments can participate. Select Students from the workshop series and the Summer camp will be selected to perform in the All-American City Jazz Festival Youth Jazz Ensemble October 27th, 2019 at the Segra Baseball Stadium downtown Fayetteville.
